Hi I’m Amy the talent behind Ajax Furtography. Now where in the world did I get the name Ajax from? Plain and simple, Ajax is a mix of Amy and Jaxon. Jax is the source of inspiration behind it all & he’s also the little man who stole my heart on New Year’s Eve six years ago.

A self professed dog lover (ok, truth be told, I teeter on being a “crazy dog lady”), I grew up with dogs & always considered them to be part of my family. As I made my way through the New England School of Photography in Boston, I realized that there was a big hole in my life where a furry little wiggle butt should live. However, school and work took precedence for a few years. After, my business partner and I built our reputation and brand as award winning photographers in the Boston wedding scene, I was finally ready to take some time to play fetch in the park! Little did I know that Jaxon was going to steal my heart and become the absolute center of my universe! Whoa…what just hit me??? Clearly, I needed to find other people with pets who felt the same way, just to make sure that I wasn’t crazy! Turns out, there are tons of other people out there who love their furkids as much as I love mine… (yup, I mean YOU!) And while I loved commemorating the special moments on “The Big Day” for so many fabulous couples, the bond that I saw between pets and their peeps inspired me to capture those every day moments of love and devotion that can only be understood by other animal lovers. Hence the start of a new beginning…Ajax Furtography!

Now, you are probably wondering what made Jaxon so special.  I guess I’ll step out of the limelight and let him tell you a little about himself.

What up? I’m Jaxon…the other half of this Dynamic Duo, and the Undisputed King of Fetch. Now, please don’t judge me, but I am a reformed criminal. I was found “running at large” by the rescue folks in North Carolina, and was shipped up north to New England to find a better way of life. Enter stage left…my mom. She said that I looked just like a little pot bellied pig with a crooked ears, spotted tongue & a bent tail. She snatched me up on NYE & we’ve been pretty much inseparable since then. She’s pretty awesome & honestly, it didn’t take long to train her to throw the ball, play tug of war & take me swimming! Mom & I have a TON of really funny stories, mostly of me doing crazy stuff which I get in trouble for, but only for about 5 minutes or so. She tells me that I’m REALLY lucky I’m so cute! Like one time, we were chillin’ out at some outside seating at one of those fancy restaurants on Newbury Street in Boston. Mom was busy yapping away with her friend sipping a frosty beverage. It’s not my fault she didn’t notice that my leash slipped out from under the chair. Cut to…a field trip inside this cool restaurant. I felt like a celebrity! Everyone was pointing & chasing after me. I was running all around…into the dining room, behind the bar. However, my luck ran out when I went into the kitchen. BUT! (silver lining here) this nice gent gave me a piece of bacon, told me I was a good dog & then he delivered me back out to my mom. She was slightly mortified, but like I said, I only was in trouble for 5 minutes! TOTALLY worth it!
